Mr. Raos is the Non-executive Chairman of Excello Asia, he is a seasoned operational
and financial executive with global management and leadership experience focused on
value creation for clients across multiple industries.
Prior to Excello Asia, Mr. Raos served as Chairman and CEO of Insulmaster Holdings
Corp (Insulmaster) in the US. He is also part of the Advisory Board of ARK Electronics
Inc., the US arm of ARK Electronics, a PRC company engaged in the production and sale
of printed circuit boards (PCB’s) in Qingdao, China.
In addition, Mr. Raos was formerly the Chief Executive Officer of Precision Partners Inc.
(“Precision”) from 2000 through 2010. Precision was a privately owned world-class
contract manufacturer of complex precision machined components, tooling and
assemblies servicing the leading global Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM’s).
Precision had operations in the US, Canada, Mexico and China and supplies the
Automotive Commercial Truck (light and heavy), Defense, Commercial Aerospace,
Refrigeration and Power Generation Industries.
From 1995 through 1999, Mr. Raos was President and Chief Operating Officer of USI
and also served as a Director. USI was organized in 1995 as a tax-free spin-off to
Hanson PLC shareholders. USI, a NYSE Company, with annual revenues of $3.4 billion,
was, at the time, an industrial management company with leading market positions in
Bath & Plumbing Products, Lighting and Hardware & Garden Tools.
Mr. Raos spent most of his professional career with Hanson Industries, Inc. (“Hanson”),
the U.S. arm of the multinational conglomerate Hanson PLC. Hanson’s operations
included Chemical, Building Materials, Forest Products, Aggregates, Coal, Propane, as
well as the industrial operations, which comprised U.S. Industries (“USI”).
At Precision, USI and Hanson, Mr. Raos participated in all aspects of Merger and
Acquisition activity including origination, finance and the negotiation of over $10 billion
of acquisitions and disposals. Some of the better-known larger acquisitions include SCM
Corporation, Kidde, Inc., Peabody Coal, Consolidated Goldfields, Quantum Chemical,
Odyssey Golf and Zurn Industries. At Precision, Mr. Raos successfully completed the
acquisitions of Electromac, MotorWheel and Berkshire Industries.
Mr. Raos, a CPA, spent five years with Price Waterhouse after graduating in 1970 from
Queens College, Flushing NY with a BA and a Major in Accounting. Mr. Raos
previously served on the Board of Xerium Technologies, Inc. (XRM (NYSE)), a leading
global supplier of rolls and engineered fabric to the paper industry. Prior to its sale to
Sierra Wireless, Mr. Raos also served on the Board of Numerex Corp., (NMRX
(NASDAQ)) a leading M2M wireless Technology Company that developed and
marketed a wide range of communications and information products and services.
Besides Hanson Plc, USI, Precision, Numerex and Xerium, Mr. Raos has also served as a
member of the Board of Directors of Dataflex Corporation, Smith Corona, United Pacific
Industries, Jade Technologies and was a Trustee of the American Management
Association.
